The scale runs on 2 AAA batteries (not included). If the scale is not used for 60 seconds or longer, it switches off automatically to save the batteries. The scale comes with a transparent lid that can be placed over the scale when not in use to protect it from damage and dust.

A backlit LCD display informs the user of the measured weight, selected settings and even indicates when the scale is overloaded or requires battery replacement. The scale lets you select different units of the metric as well as imperial measuring system: gram (g), ounce (oz), troy ounce (ozt) and carat (ct).
