Terrible Quality - don't buy
Have bought this several months ago but used only twice. But on the 2nd time of use, found some crack line on the plastic. Called and brought to the Service Center, they all claimed their product plastic has this flow lines. There a very obvious cracks but Dyson insisted no issues and refused to change though under warranty. My guess over time of use, the whole plastic may just crack and users will have to buy a new one. Will never buy another Dyson product again. I wonder how their Quality team can pass this off for sale. If compared with other Vacuum cleaners you will not see such so called 'flow lines' which has like an embedded cracks on the plastic parts.

V8 is still good despite the age
I still have the older V8 (non-slim version), and it served me well for over five years with a one-time battery change. I gave the older V8 to a friend and tried many other alternative brands afterwards. However, nothing still wins a Dyson, even such an old design V8. So now I am back with this improved V8. The smaller roller head size makes a lot of difference with ease of usage and manoeuvrability. What is better than this V8? The V12 (or whatever the latest). I am OK with the V8 as it is not my main product for cleaning the floor, as that is the job of the WashG1. If you ever wonder why Dyson is better, look closer at the fluffy brush. It is not the same as any other similar ones from competitors.

Awful!
I had great expectations for this product but they were dashed after my first use. Flimsy, not powerful enough on normal mode and powerful mode kills the battery after about a few minutes.
Very disappointing, I will certainly not recommend it.

The vacuum is not loud.
This 1st dyson I had was DC65, had it for almost 10 years. This dyson v8 slim fluffy was a redemption from credit card, but I find the suction not strong and the bin cover is difficult to pull open.

Initially was good but after a few tried my vacuum roller kept dropping out. Meanwhile I put sticker to hold the roller from dropping off.

Best choice
Pretty happy with this dyson v8. It cuts down my housework speed due to its smooth rollers & suction as i don’t have to go over the same spot twice! It is also lightweight and battery lasts longer now. But it would be good if a brush is provided to clean the dustbox properly.

Poor function
I brought its after I purchased airbot vacume machine.. but I found the v8 function is poorly. U need to hold the press button which airbot don't need and there is indicator is the battery charged
