Fast Wireless Router in a nice size
The router was much faster in internet speed in all older WiFi bands include the newer WiFi 6 or 7 and it is smaller in size. After setup the devices connected can notice better speed. Overall a nice upgrade from my old AC wireless.
Negative was the setup app was not smooth. Had to shutdown and on a few times and also change device from phone to iPad before it can connect to router. A downgrade in speed of setting up comparing to the laptop wire connection. Heat management still similar to my old device without improvement.

Asus RT-BE58U usuage experience
Setting up Asus RT-BE58U was a breeze using the app. The U.I was user friendly, organised and clean. It comes with the remote access through the app for managing the features presented. Parental control was a feature to limit play time for our young schooling kids. Firmware update was preset and requires no attention at all. Overall, it meets my expectations.

Review of router
Router settings were easily accessed and setup wifi SSID and passwords. Unfortunately it can only be carried out using handphone. I would like to prefer to use desktop to access the IP of router. I tried but cannot login. Other than that, all LAN connections worked well without any problem. Wifi is also ok except for 2nd level, the 5G is very weak.

RT-BE58E – poor reliability as AIMesh Node
Used it as AIMesh Node in a bedroom
about 4m away from Main Node with a separating wall.
Frequent dropped connection w Main Mode.
Rebooting didn’t help.
Got to do Remove Node and Add Node.
Very disappointed.
Previously, using other Asus model
with no issue.

Entry router form a reputable brand
Router configuration had many options. A nice gesture that Asus no longer use default password. An affordable entry router from a reliable brand. 1 suggestion for improvement is to provide at least 1 x 2.5 gbps LAN port.

Painless AI mesh set up
I had a pair of existing Asus routers so it was pretty much plug and play. Now I have a aimesh with my 2 old routers, including one bought in 2018. It just works
