Rated 5 out of 5 by Shu1212 from Smooth glide and real time saver [Employee of philipsglobal] This Philips iron is super pretty. I almost felt it was a shame to store it away in my service yard. My ironing board is not sturdy enough to hold the whole iron so I've placed the water tank on the floor. Iron cord is long enough to be used on the board. The iron itself is pretty lightweight, and glides really smoothly over garments. The product boasts of AI technology to recognise the garment type. Honestly I wouldn't be able to tell as a layman, but so far I've not had any garments that was tricky to iron. There is no temperature setting, and it usually takes just about 2 glides over the area to straighten creases. The powerful steam feature also helps to save alot of time with ironing. When not ironing, the iron does not get activated, which saves me time from having to get the iron to sit upright. Overall, very pleased with my purchase. Next innovation, can we get an auto self-ironing iron please?

The iron was so light that even my 89 years old mum like it so much as she used less effort doing her ironing. The active sense helps me do not need to select settings for the different fabric of my clothing and the outcome nice and flat without wrinkles on my clothing. The water container holds enough water for me to complete my ironing as I do not need to top up regularly. Using my previous iron I took at least 45 mins to iron my 6 sets of clothings and with this iron, its took me only 20 minutes. Glad that I got this iron and will recommend it to my family members to buy it. The only area for improvement will be the cable management feature. It is quite difficult to keep all the cable into the slot provided. But that can be overlooked as the positive user experience I get out weight it.

This was the hard part, because usually electric appliances are easily plug and play items. Once gotten the hang of using it, it was pretty easy to iron the garments. The clothes stayed nicely pressed with less effort than using my traditional iron. However please be careful when the iron is releasing steam as it can be quite hot. I'd turned off the auto steam function so that I could better control when the steam will be released. Nonetheless while the auto steam function was turned on, it did release steam differently for different fabric that I was ironing on. It really has a smart detector function. I do not have silk material, so did not have a chance to try ironing on such delicate material.

The iron can be easily fall as the bottom ledge does not give a good grip for the iron to stay. Needs attention to place it properly. 2. The cable gets hot easily 3. The iron stand provided is not so steady. Can be shaky at times 4. I do accidentally get the steam blowing towards my hand.

For anyone who doesn’t have good ironing skill, or even for someone who just want to start doing ironing. I will strongly encourage every newly wed couples to get one of this, and you will do your weekly ironing job with a smiley face, no longer a crumpled face. No more argument on ironing job anymore! I received it 3 weeks ago, during CB period, which is not the best time to test the efficacy and efficiency of the product. We have a household of 6 people:4 working adults and 1 studying kid; hence, ironing job is really a heavy duty (we iron all the clothes, except housewear). Before CB, my dad does ironing for the whole house, at least 3 times a week, each time a big pile of clothes, around 5 hours. (I do it occasionally, as my dad will never satisfied with my skill). During this CB period, we only could only use it for 3 times so far (big piles of clothes each time). My dad and I both tested. It gets so efficient for me, and the outcome of the ironing look like from a professional! The time efficiency improved around 30%, and definitely not so tired. It take less/no effort to remove creases. I literally just push the iron on the clothes, change the position, and the iron will do its job. No skill required, at all. The outcome is so satisfying! No worry for burnt, or adjusting temperature all the time. You never need to worry the iron stain on clothes (when you use too high heat for your fabric), or many effort and strength to push to iron the crease because of incorrect setting. I used dislike ironing my husband shirt and my dad shirt as they are not so easy to iron, but now, I could say: easy peasy! However, there are some cons for the product. A professional like my dad like less about the product, dues to less flexibility (because of shorter coil), bulkier and high price. And lastly, there will be big hot water droplets drip out from the iron after operation an hour or so, making the floor quite wet, which is not so pleasant. Overall i will say, it is very good!

The product was delivered in a nice packaging and the iron can be easily taken out from the box (unlike some products that often gets stuck when unboxing). It looks very classy and cool as a gadget, unlike any regular irons I have seen. The iron itself is very lightweight and glides over my clothes extremely smoothly. The best part is that I do not even have to adjust any settings or temperature. It works wonders when I am ironing my silk clothings. I don’t have to fear that my dresses will get burned or have a shiny stain when the temperature is too hot. It saved me so much time and effort. It’s really a breeze to do ironing now. I like the huge water tank which enables me to fill up with a substantial amount of water and do my ironing all at one go. The only downside of this iron is that the steam generation can be a little too much. Other than that, the iron is really great. There is even a slot for the wire to be kept. The length of the cord connecting the base and the iron is also a good length. Love this product so much!

The Steam Generator Iron with ActiveSense Technology saves me from finding the right temperature to iron out different types of materials. I don't have to adjust any functions, just set it to automatic steam mode and off you go. Easy to glide through the crease and instantly you have a straighten piece of clothing ready to wear. Tried ironing on prints with no issues even though it's not recommended. At first, I was intimidated by the size of the box, it was big but later came to realized that the big portion was the water tank part where I can just place a tabletop next to my ironing board. The iron itself is light, you won't feel the heaviness after a long ironing session. It saves me a lot of time too. It's effortless, I took about 40 mins to iron a whole lot of clothes for a family of four. I hated ironing, one of my least favorite chores at home but now I am actually looking for clothes to iron. Pros: - Easy to understand and operate the iron. - Big water tank means fewer times is needed for refilling. - ActiveSense Technology helps in noticing the material that you ironing gives you the confidence that it will not burn your clothes. - Ironing takes less effort therefore completion of the chore is faster. - Steam automatically stops when the iron stops moving. - Can be placed on the ironing board without burning it. - It has a safety lock on the attachment, moving it is safe without the iron dropping onto the floor. Cons: - Takes up space for placing and storing the iron with the attachment, - The steam supply hose is hot when iron is in use. Should be careful with young children around. - I have a normal ironing board which is not designed for Steam Generator Iron so after my first session of ironing, my ironing board was wet. It will be good to throw-in an ironing board with it or advise on the proper ironing board for a Steam Generator Iron. I would recommend this product cause it actually saves you time and effort. Worth the purchase.
