  • Grand re-opening was officiated by Mr Harry Higashiura, CEO, COURTS Singapore, and Mr Cai Yinzhou, Adviser to Bishan-Toa Payoh Grassroots Organisations

SINGAPORE – 6 December 2025
– COURTS (Singapore) Pte Ltd (“COURTS Singapore”), a leading electrical, IT, and furniture retailer in the region and a wholly owned subsidiary of Nojima Corporation, today announced the grand re-opening of its refreshed store in Toa Payoh, along with the launch of a community initiative to benefit low-income residents within Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC.

Following the renovation, the upgraded store features a modern and refreshing design and a wide variety of products, aimed at delivering a comfortable and immersive shopping experience for customers.

The re-opening ceremony was officiated by Mr Harry Higashiura, CEO, COURTS Singapore, and Mr Cai Yinzhou, Adviser to Bishan-Toa Payoh Grassroots Organisations, and included a lion dance performance and a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Contributing to the community

To celebrate the grand reopening, COURTS will be donating $20,000 in vouchers to underprivileged residents in Toa Payoh in partnership with the Toa Payoh Central Citizens’ Consultative Committee Community Development and Welfare Fund under the newly launched Toa Payoh Central-COURTS Essential Home Grant. Eligible households will receive up to $50 in COURTS vouchers, which can be used at any COURTS store island wide. These vouchers will help low-income residents with purchasing essential household and electrical items, and underscores COURTS’ commitment to serve the Toa Payoh community.

Mr Harry Higashiura, CEO, COURTS Singapore, said, “We recognise that retail is vital to ensure vibrancy in a precinct, and as COURTS enters its 21st year in Toa Payoh, we are grateful to have the opportunity to continue bringing a positive impact to residents in the area. Following the success of our partnership with the East Coast and Tampines GRCs during the opening of our Tampines Megastore last year, COURTS is pleased to be a company that cares. We hope these vouchers can help defray expenses for essential household items for underprivileged residents in the community.”

Mr Cai Yinzhou, Adviser to Bishan-Toa Payoh Grassroots Organisations, added: “COURTS’ desire to help our less privileged constituents is a welcomed initiative, and demonstrates the power of companies to supporting the community in Singapore. We are thankful for the generous donation of vouchers that will go a long way in these residents’ lives.”

A one-stop shop for homeowners

Located a stone’s throw away from HDB Hub, COURTS’ refreshed store serves as a convenient location for young Singaporeans to kickstart their homeownership journey. Customers can expect to find an enhanced shopping experience, with four storeys of the widest selection of high-quality products and service, from furniture and bedding essentials, home and kitchen appliances, cleaning essentials, personal care, health and beauty products, cooling and aircare, electronics, IT, mobile and home cleaning services.

The store will also feature experiential zones where customers can interact with products before purchasing. These include HDB BTO concept showrooms for 2-room flexi and 4-room flats. These concepts are designed for modern, real-life living, and will blend style, function, and comfort for every household need. New homeowners will be able to picture their dream living space, fit to their requirements.

COURTS will also introduce the Sofa Maker, an in-store service that allows customers to confidently personalise and pick the right sofas for their homes. It is an immersive space featuring expert guidance, hands-on discovery, and digital tools to support their sofa-selection journey. Customers will be able to explore the full breadth of COURTS’ extensive sofa range, and find the best fit for their lifestyle, space, and personal aesthetic.

Mr Higashiura said, “We are pleased to introduce the new refreshed Toa Payoh store, which features experiential retail spaces, the integration of technology and enhanced service offerings. We recognise homeownership is a rite of passage for many Singaporeans and we are pleased to have played a key role in helping many homeowners furnish their dream homes over the last two decades. We hope the store will continue to serve residents for the years to come and help them to build the homes of their dreams.”

Giving Singaporeans the best rest through the Sleep Clinic

With re-opening of the flagship store, COURTS is pleased to launch its Sleep Clinic, Singapore’s first in-store concept to assist customers with sleep solutions. As the nation’s leading mattress retailer, COURTS will equip customers with the knowledge, tools and expert guidance to achieve better and more restful sleep.

The Sleep Clinic includes Wellness and Experience Hubs, which are immersive and curated spaces focused on sleep wellness:

  • Wellness Area: Inspired by the five senses that promote rest and relaxation, the Wellness Hub offers a curated selection of sleep-enhancing products – including calming aromas, sound therapy speakers with guided playlists, massage tools, and luxurious massage chairs – all designed to help customers create the ideal sleep environment.
  • Experience Hub: The Experience Hub is a holistic space designed to guide customers through their personalised sleep product discovery journey. It begins at a tranquil, private area where customers complete a customised sleep questionnaire to receive impartial, brand-agnostic recommendations on ideal mattress types and firmness levels based on their individual sleep habits and preferences. Next, there is a hands-on discovery area for customers to try out five common mattress types to gain insight into suitable firmness levels for their sleep positions and determine the most appropriate mattress sizes and sleep products for their unique needs, lifestyle, and space. Finally, there is a curated space where customers can explore ergonomic pillows, supportive bolsters, and breathable sheets, receiving guidance on different weights, thread counts, fillings, and materials to choose the ideal combination tailored to their specific sleep style and comfort requirements.

The Sleep Clinic is available exclusively at COURTS Toa Payoh, with future plans to expand the concept to more locations island wide.
