Protection Lite Terms & Conditions

The Conditions set forth here shall be taken as mutually acceptable and considered as an inclusive part of any final sales contract with Digital Hospital, and shall be applicable at COURTS Singapore

Conditions for One-Time Software Solution:

This cover applies to the following: removing of virus and malware, device healthcheck, optimization, reformatting and other general software services.

  • Software Solution does not include ransom software removal, data migration and data recovery services.
  • Incompatibility issues such as drivers, 3rd party or commercial software are based on best effort only. Other best effort services include software licensing, activation and networking issues. Digital Hospital does not guarantee that such issues could be solved eventually.
  • Software Solution does not include the tutoring, modification or programing of the software.
  • Software Solution is strictly provided at our premises and does not include on-site or remove services.

Conditions for One-Time Accidental Damage Protection:

This cover applies to the following: accidental physical impact, or spillage of liquids, or cracked screen due to accidental physical impact.

  • Units brought in for assessing repair and other replacement or parts and related costs can be considered for trade-in.
  • A service fee of S$40 is payable for each Accidental Damage Claim.
  • This cover is strictly limited to a maximum of ONE (1) Accidental Damage Claim per product per life cycle.
  • One-Time Accidental Damage Protection coverage ranges from cracked screen to water damage. If Digital Hospital is unable to fix it, a like-for-like replacement will be provided.
  • Digital Hospital reserves the right and option to either repair or replace your unit with another of like kind, quality and specifications. Due to technological advances, the replaced product may be of a lower retail value than the faulty unit.
  • Replacement parts may be new, original or non-original manufacturer's parts that conform to factory specifications and shall be determined at our sole discretion.

Exclusions:

No coverage will be provided for / if:

  • Non-operating and cosmetic items, paint, colour, or product finish, accessories used in or with the unit, external cables and cords, or add-on options incorporated to the unit.
  • Software (including operating system and any stored data), defects resulting directly from software installation and/or removal, computer virus, virus prevention, and other peripherals.
  • Hardware that has been added after the purchase of the original product; and all batteries.
  • Intentional physical damage or failure caused by a voltage converter and/or applying incorrect voltage to the unit.
  • External faults such as wiring, electrical connection, adaptor, charger or data cable and consequential loss of any kind.
  • Manufacturer's warranty will be voided under accidental damages. Digital Hospital will replace the parts accordingly, but warranty status cannot be reverted back after servicing.

Conditions for One-Time Data Recovery under Digital Hospital® RESCUE DATA RECOVERY SERVICE PROGRAM:

  • When making a claim for the rendering of any Service, the Customer must provide Digital Hospital with full details of the Customer's purchase slip, invoice or other reasonably acceptable proof of purchase confirming details of the Device and reflecting the simultaneous purchase of this Agreement, details of where and when the Customer purchased the Device, details (name, ID number, telephone number and address) as well as the description and serial number of the Device the Customer bought with this Agreement. If proof of purchase cannot be located, Digital Hospital will try and assist the Customer to confirm the purchase of the Device and this Agreement with the supplier but do not undertake to be able to do so. The Customer must also give Digital Hospital a frank, full and honest account of the incident leading to the claim. If Digital Hospital so request at any time, the Customer must send the proof, to our reasonable satisfaction, of any or all of the aforegoing and provide Digital Hospital with any further information it reasonably requires before Digital Hospital is required to perform any actions or further actions hereunder.
  • Only valid claims for Services made during the term of this Agreement and made in accordance with the procedures in this Agreement and which are covered by this Agreement and which are not excluded or otherwise limited by the terms hereof will be processed and oblige Digital Hospital to render the Services.
  • In the event that any claim is determined to be a claim not covered by the Indemnity, the Customer is required to pay the service fee before the Claim is processed.
  • Original invoice of the devices need to be presented for internal approval before purchasing SRP with 60 days wait out period.
  • Data recovery package does not include data decryption service.

Definition of Full Working Unit for Laptops / AIO / Desktops

A Full Working Unit is defined as:

  • Completeness and functionality of Laptop / AIO with battery / charger / external optical drive / keyboard / mouse / VGA convertor cables / power cables / USB to Ethernet cables.
  • No major physical damages such as cracks, dents or loose hinges (whenever applicable).
  • Batteries to hold more than 50% of designed charge capacity (whenever applicable).
  • LCD is free from major display faults; chassis is in a reasonable aesthetic condition.
  • LCD display screen must be intact, and not damaged, scratched or cracked.
  • Devices should not have been tampered with.
  • A unit that does not satisfy the above conditions will not be considered as a Full Working Unit.

Definition of Full Working Unit for Mobile Devices (Tablets / Smartphones)

A Full Working Unit is defined as:

  • Completeness and functionality of Tablets / Smartphones with charger, battery, original accessories such as data cable, keyboards and MMC cards (whenever applicable).
  • No major physical damages such as cracks, dents or loose hinges (whenever applicable).
  • LCD is free from major display faults; chassis is in a reasonable aesthetic condition.
  • LCD display screen must be intact, and not damaged, scratched or cracked.
  • Words displayed on the LCD screen must not be segmented.
  • Tablets / Smartphones must be able to power on and device must be unlocked.

Guaranteed Trade-in (NO Damage protection claim)

Conditions for Trade-in:

  • Must be a Full Working Unit (refer to Definition of Full Working Unit) with full set of original accessories and box, and without any scratch on the screen.
  • All personal accounts and/or ID must be signed out prior to handing the unit for any consideration for trading-in.
  • A guaranteed trade-in rate is set at up to 75% of the purchase price (need to present invoice/s) for Laptops, PCs, tablets and mobiles devices ONLY
  • The Guaranteed price is based on the purchase price for the hardware device and accessories in the original packaging only.
  • For units that are not considered as fully working, and have not been claimed under Accidental Damages, a service fee of S$40 will be deducted from final trade-in rate quoted.
  • For units with suspected water damages, Digital Hospital reserve the right to reject the device if customers do not allow for opening up of device for water damage check.
  • All traded-in units which have been used for less than 12 months with original proof of purchase are eligible for trade-in
  • Any defects that are the subject of the manufacturer's recall will not be entitled for Guaranteed Trade-in value;

Deductions off Guaranteed value:

The estimated market retail value of additional items such as bundled accessories, extra peripherals and software will be deducted from the total price if the invoice does not have itemized prices.

Deductions will apply if original accessories and box are incomplete:

  • Without original headset - S$10 off.
  • Without original synchronizing cable - S$20 off.
  • Without original phone/tablet charger - S$30 off.
  • Without original MacBook charger - S$60 to S$120 off.
  • Without original gaming charger like Dell Alienware, Asus ROG, Razer Blade, MSI, Acer Predator, Aftershock and Gigabyte - S$150 to S$180 off.
  • Without box - S$20 off.

Deductions will be applied for external cosmetic damage in Mobile/Tablet/Smartwatch Category:

  • 1 to 2 scratches/marks/paint peels around the bezel and/or back - 10% deduction from trade-in value
  • 3 or more scratches/marks/paint peels around the bezel and/or back - 30% deduction from trade-in value
  • 1 or more scratches on the screen – 30% deduction from trade-in value
  • With scratches/ marks/ paint peels around the bezel and/or back - 5% to 10% deduction from the trade-in rate depending on severity.
  • With 1 to 2 dents/cracks of no more than 1.5mm long and 0.5mm depth – 30% deduction from trade-in value
  • With dent(s)/crack(s) of more than 1.5mm long and 0.5mm depth – up to 60% deduction from trade-in value
  • Only the highest deduction value will used for the price gauge.

Deductions will be applied for external cosmetic damage in PC / AiO / 2-in-1 / Laptop Category:

  • 1 to 3 scratches/marks/paint fading of not more than 1.5cm on top case, LCD bezel, palm rest and keyboard area - 10% deduction from trade-in value
  • 4 or more scratches/marks/paint fading of not more than 1.5cm or with any scratches/marks/paint on top case, LCD bezel, palm rest and keyboard area - 30% deduction from trade-in value.
  • With 1 to 2 dents/cracks of no more than 1.5mm long and 0.5mm depth – 30% deduction from trade-in value
  • With dent(s)/crack(s) of more than 1.5mm long and 0.5mm depth – up to 60% deduction from trade-in value
  • Only the highest deduction value will used for trade in price gauge.

Others:

  • Battery: Apple battery status must be "normal", not more than 700 cycle. Laptop battery must carry at least 50% of the original capacity. Mobile phone and tablet battery needs to carry at least 60% of original capacity. A deduction of up to 25% from trade in value if the battery does not meet the above standards.
  • Units that have been claimed under Damage Protection Plan such as screen crack, liquid spillage and impact damage are not eligible.
  • Original Proof of purchase must be produced for reference on initial purchase price. If proof of purchase is unavailable, Digital Hospital reserves the right to use the last known market price for price reference.
  • Customers must exercise the trade-in program 2 weeks before pre-set period: 3rd month/ 6th month/ 1st year/ 2nd and 3rd year of Damage Protection Plan expiry date.
