Air Multiplier™ technology
Dyson fans work very differently to conventional electric fans. They don't have fast-spinning blades that chop the air and cause uncomfortable buffeting. Instead, AM03 pedestal fans use Air Multiplier™ technology to draw in air and amplify it 18 times, producing an uninterrupted stream of smooth air.
Air is drawn in by an energy efficient, brushless motor. A combination of the technologies used in turbochargers and jet engines generates powerful airflow, which is accelerated through an annular aperture. Airflow passes over an airfoil shaped ramp, causing it to draw in and amplify air from around and behind the machine.
No choppy air
Because Dyson fans don't have blades, they don't chop the air before it hits you. Airflow is smooth, with no unpleasant buffeting.
Remote airflow control
Quickly adjust airflow power and oscillation. The remote control unit is curved and magnetized to store neatly on top of the loop amplifier.
There are no fast-spinning blades on a Dyson Air Multiplier™ fan. It's safe to use, and doesn't need a safety grill for protection.
Easy to clean
Ordinary fans have safety grills to guard their fast-spinning blades. They collect dust and are fiddly to take apart and reassemble when you want to clean them. Dyson fans don't have blades or grills. Simply wipe clean with a cloth.
Easy height adjust
The stand uses a constant force tensator spring to resist the force of gravity. It allows you to quickly adjust the fan to the height you want.
Easy to tilt
Tilt the loop amplifier to the angle you want to set the direction of airflow. The fan stays put without clamping.
Conventional fans have limited power settings — usually just three or four, one of which is off. A Dyson fan allows you to precisely adjust airflow to suit your personal comfort.
